Songwriter, vocalist, dancer and multi-instrumentalist KATIA pumps an eclectic blend of acoustic soul, jazz, blues, world & reggae roots fusion. Her music and lyrics reflect her passion for LIFE, LOVE, MUSIC and the ongoing quest to re-connect with ones true self. Drawing inspiration from life and Mother Nature’s incredible beauty as well as her Mauritian island heritage, Katia’s attitude, style and positive lyrics will take you on a journey through her colorful life.


Katia’s musical journey began in high school singing at concerts and performing in cultural groups. She was later inspired to learn the guitar so she could write her own songs, and soon went on tour with the double neck Spanish guitar playing duo ‘Pan’, performing at festivals and markets throughout NSW and Victoria.


Katia now performs solo and sometimes with 3 to 5 piece band. Katia is also involved in other musical projects such as singing, dancing and playing flute and saxophone with Gold Coast reggae/funk band CC The Cat, and backing Vocals for amazing Jazz RnB Hiphop band Ladi Abundance Project, Katia also joins on occasion the Lamplights, the Sounds of Sun Collective and Felicity Lawless among other amazing musicians, she loves nothing more than to explore the many pathways of music.


As a soloist/duo/band and as part of other musical projects, Katia has played at Festivals such as:


Island Vibe, Parklife, Parihaka International Peace Festival NZ, Earth Frequency, Southern Oracle, Roots Reggae Festival, Nimbin Mardi Grass, Green Day Out, D’alliance, Kirra Kite Festival, Beat Machine, Organic River Festival NZ, Coro Festival NZ, Nimbin Roots, Multicultural Festival VIC. Laura St Festival, Community Care Festival and the Block Party West End


She has also had residency playing covers and originals at The Cave Nobby beach, the Palmy Café Palm beach, Qbar Q1 surfers paradise, Babalou Kingscliff, Fuel Bar Chevron Island, Genki café Palm Beach, Swinging Safari Surfers Paradise, Albion Hotel Brisbane, The Patch Coolangatta, Currumbin RSL,The Regatta, PBC Markets and Carrara Markets and Kirramisu Restaurant.


Now in the process of recording her new album, Katia has her sights on exploring the many magical paths through which music flows - performing at festivals, traveling and playing music around the world.
